I like this boat a little more each time I take it out. And it's so convenient, quick and easy, I go out more often than I did. It replaces a Wilderness Systems Ride 115, which I had for 6 years and really enjoyed. We wanted to be a one car family, so I sold my CRV, Thule Hullavator racks and the Ride and now have a great boat that fits nicely in a small car.

I find the 6 or 7 minutes it takes to inflate the boat (with the included hand pump) to be the perfect warm up for paddling. At 10 psi, the 393rl is stiff as a board and feather-light. The build quality is exceptional and although I'm a lot more wary about how I beach it, it's durable enough for all the paddling I'll do. I'm comfortable taking it downriver on a multi-day camping trip, for example.

I've added a chunk of pool noodle under the front of the seat for better thigh support and better weight transfer, so the seat is plenty comfortable. It's a pricey boat, but good value at the same time. Definitely 5 stars worth.

My first Sea Eagle SE 330 I bought in the US about 7 years ago and used in the Mediterranian Sea in Turkey every year. I was landing on sharp rocks, sometimes got big waves, sometimes had no time to wash it with fresh water before half year storage. But still, the kayak is working well! I like the quality. But I felt that because of wideness and no footrest this model are pretty slow (if you somehow invent footrests in this models it would be great!). So, I decided to bought Razor Late which is pretty narrow, hard like SUP and fast. It was pretty complicated quest because Sea Eagle does not sell and send boats to Russia, where I live, so I used the help of my US friends and pay extra 200 $ for delivery from NY to Moscow, but finally, I got it! Kayak is really fast as plastic one, very easy to inflate, has comfortable seat and very good backpack. I enjoy the speed of kayak and good quality paddle. Need 2 more metal rings on the backside for dry bags.

I am a sit on top kayak-er of seventeen years. I recently, due to the purchase of a camper trailer, decided to take the step to inflatable.

I was very skeptical I will say. After much research, I decided on the sea eagle, due to the fact that it seemed to be the fastest and it seemed solid.

On my maiden voyage, I was surprised at how easy it was to inflate (with the hand pump). I have used it several times now and I am hooked.

It is a bit pricey for an inflatable, but the quality of the product is worth it. I have currently owned two wilderness system sit on tops and will sell one of them.

Great kayak. The only negative is the footrest, but I may modify that.

Purchased SE393RL in January. 5 trips w/more planned. Huntington Harbour, San Diego Mission Bay & Newport Bay/Back Bay. If I wrote this review after one or two trips it would have gotten fewer stars because of folding conundrums being a novice IK owner. I did several frustrating attempts including obligatory living room inflate/deflate & watched the video multiple times. Got caught in a downpour & wanted to get the kayak into the car fast. By not overthinking, just fold fold fold, it all clicked. Since then all successful folds into the bag. PROS:+portability! toss in car, no roof rack/no worries about car height clearance +easy to inflate, a couple minutes even w/basic pump +handles very well in tidal swells or flat water, great length +seat is comfortable & supportive +high weight limit +extra space for the pup. CONS -extra time to clean & get water out of crevices -worthless footrest, not using it -could use extra D-rings front/rear -wish it had inside handle like the SeaEagle Canoe for easier solo carry

I chose the 393rl because inflateable was my best option. Being inflateable admittedly adds an element of fragility due to puncture, but the warranty seemed very good. Little did I know that there could also be a manufacturing defect that could happen. That was indeed my problem the day after going to Kentucky lake to view the full eclipse last August, as a seam on the hull leaked after our viewing what was undeniably the most spectacular solar event. Luckily it was very slow and did not impact the event and only appeared later that day. After getting home, I inflated the hull again and was able to locate the leak at a seam. I contacted the guys at SeaEagle, and my hull was well within the warranty period. SeaEagle replaced the hull within a few days! Great service and a great kayak. I recommend this craft to folks who need portability and space savings.

Love it

I just recently added a second 393rl to my fleet and couldn't be happier! The kayak sets up fast (love my electric pump!) and only takes about 5 minutes to get on the water. I am constantly getting on the water faster than hardshell kayak owners can with all the hassle they have of loading and unloading from the top of a car (who needs that headache!)

With the skeg it tracks straight and true and doesn't get tossed around in the wind like other inflatable kayaks. I did cut off about 3" off my skeg though for a little more clearance in shallow water and it still tracks straight & is more maneuverable to boot! With plenty of room and a comfortable tall back seat its easy to spend the whole day on the water.

Everytime I take the kayak out people are always impressed and many can't believe its inflatable until they see me put the kayak away in the trunk of my Ford Mustang.

This is definitely the fastest and best inflatable kayak out there! What are you waiting for?

We love the portability and performance of our 393rl. We bought two of them. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a go-anywhere solution for flat-water paddling. The ONLY reservation that I have is with the size of the carry bag. It needs to be about 25% larger. This is a constant source of irritation trying to put the kayak back into the bag. I have watched the company's videos on repacking and have used the electric pump to suction out the excess air, but the bag is just too small. I give the kayak five stars but the bag issue knocks off one star for me.

Hi John, we have gone to bigger bag and will be sending two of them out to you right away!

I've had other inflatable kayaks in the past and this one is much better, it handles as well as a hard shell kayak. Really easy to blow up even with just the hand pump. It only takes me about 10 minutes total to set up.

First of all, I think Sea Eagle boats are the best inflatable boats you can buy. That being said, my first couple of rides in my 393rl were a little sketchy. My previous boat was a paddleski . I bought that about 5 years ago. It was very stable and easy to row. Unfortunatley the wind pushed it around quite a bit. The 393rl has a much lower profile so that reduces that problem a lot. Stability is the problem. I consider myself a pretty good kayaker but I had a hard time feeling secure in this kayak. I guess I just need more time to get used to it. Also , the backpack for the kayak is not the easiest to pack up the kayak. I really struggle to get the kayak back in it. Other than those issues, the boat itself is great. Easy to inflate and deflate. It definitely moves through the water smoothly. I will keep trying to get used to my 393rl but it is definitely suited more for experienced kayakers.

Sea Eagle's reply:

Aloha Daniel, the RazorLite™ is indeed a high-performance kayak but it's easy to master. Just like riding a bike. There's a slight learning curve. Once you have it though - you have it and have taken your skills to the next level. Remember the skeg will help. Getting your paddle in the water as soon as possible for bracing and getting underway will help too. Just like riding a bike. When stationary you can either lay your paddle across your RazorLite™ (perpendicular) to act like a balance pole or keep a blade in the water for bracing. Before long you will have developed the core muscles needed and using your RazorLite™ will become natural. Give this video a try for packing ► youtu.be/Dfbp_lm3jGY a try! Should make it pretty easy.
