Very poorly made. The rudder fell entirely off and the glue separated on the seams. I would not recommend to anyone!

Bought my 380x a year ago and a great time with it so far. Tested it out on many rivers in colorado. My buddy also bought one of the exact same make and has had basically only problems with it. Leaks all over including one on the seam. So far we have emailed them many times and even called and sent pictures, but their customer service seems to not want to help. I probably won’t recommend it to anyone as there are other good duckies out there for the same money.

Sea Eagle Reply:
Thank you for the review Steven. We offer a 3 year warranty and a 6 year extended warranty on all our products which covers any seam or material defect. We are sorry for any inconvenience you or your friend may have experienced. Please contact us so we can help with any issues.

Hello Sea Eagle team. We have taken the boat out on about a dozen trips this year on rivers in and around Calgary AB, Canada. We love the boat and how simple it is to setup and take down. As for the customer service experience it was all good your staff is great etc. The only knock against your package is the absence of a carry back pack style kit bag. The current method is very poor as far as portability. You have all of your components is separate pieces with is not convenient at all. I also have a WaterMaster inflatable that comes complete with a dry bag to put all needed items in one place it is very convenient to carry in one bag. Please look at your competition and see what they are doing. Don't get me wrong we love the Kayak.... Kind regards, Bruce Duckworth

As a newer less experienced kayaker, I do feel safer in this boat on class II rapids. The downside is, the boat is heavy (50lbs), and has a mind of its own on Whitewater. My spouse and I kayaked together and found the boat difficult to steer and maneuver around rocks and through the rapids. I’ll likely use the boat for flat water, as a fishing kayak, or for friends with little to no kayak experience so they’re safer. Unfortunately there’s not a lot of room to grow with this boat in terms of kayaking more challenging water (due to lack of maneuverability)

Sea Eagle Reply:
Thank you for the review Susan. Note that the hull without any gear is 40lbs and may be easier to carry by itself. For other transport you may want to use one of our carts linked here: https://www.seaeagle.com/Accessories/ez-cart/ez-cart-small- For any further assistance feel free to contact us anytime.

I have used the kayak 2 times and it is losing air. I put the kayak away for the season now. It appears to be only one side that is losing air.

Thank you for the review Joseph. We'd be happy to assist you in any matter regarding repair or warranty. Please feel free to reach out to us anytime.

This would easily be a rating of five if not for two issues. One of which being a critical design issue and the other being the customer service. The main issue is the new rudder/skeg design. It’s poor to say the least. It’s incredibly fragile to a point where the paddler needs to be in water deep enough that it has clearance from a sandy bottom before the skeg can be safely installed. I’ve watched my friend and paddling partner destroy two in the space of a month. The trip is an easy one with no rapids. His boat had no more than 250-300lbs aboard and he’s an exceptionally experienced River tripper. If the skeg even brushed against a rock or firm bottom it would break. This is completely unacceptable for how you are advertising this product. This is a flat water with no rapids skeg design period. If I were to change my review I would need to have sea eagle send me the old skeg system and some instruction on how to mount it to this new boat. The old system had the long white plastic piece.

Hello Sea Eagle Staff, The purchase of the 380X was easy. The website discloses specific details that not all manufacturers advertise making Sea Eagle a top choice during comparison of competitors products. Although not designed for flat water paddling, the skeg and the option to close the self-bailing ports make this a truly versatile kayak. The factory seating positions are set for the most legroom for both paddlers but are situated more towards the rear of the kayak than other tandems we considered. Whitewater paddling is good but suffers from too thin of a floor to keep the rear paddler from sitting in standing water with the bailing ports open. This was only with a small cooler and 140lb front/165lb rear paddlers on very mild Class I/II rivers. Due to the floor being mostly lower than the outer tubes, the factory 3" floor is not sufficient. I have an idea for a custom floor that I would be interested in having made for purchase. I would purchase a 300x once the floor design is perfected.

Sea Eagle Reply:
Aloha Anne, we now offer a 4" floor for the Explorer iK's and they now also come with 4" floors from our factory.

This is an awesome boat, however the fin underneath randomly came off during one of our outings and we cannot find replacement. Had less than a year.

The kayak is built very well. Easy to inflate and great in the water. I feel very safe. My only issue. It is heavy to carry by yourself. You really need 2 folks to maneuver it on land. Also, once it is deflated, again it is heavy and bulky to carry any distance. Probably, if I wasn’t a small older women, it might be easier.

This boat is a delight with one exception. First the good. I find the 380X to be well constructed, easy to stow away and quick to set up (I was lucky enough to get the electric pump as a bonus when I ordered). I store the kayak on my sailboat and took it to the Bahamas this last winter where it served as a second dinghy as well as a craft for exploring the coastline and get plenty of exercise. My wife and I have enjoyed kayaking in the 380x together with plenty of room and lots of storage for snorkeling gear or whatever else we wanted to carry with us. It tracks in the water much better than expected and is light enough to port over a ridge or two to access inland waterways. Hurray! Now the bad - we bought the upgraded seats which we find really comfortable, but after every use when we returned to use the kayak we found the clasps that anchor the seats were frozen with salt buildup. I tried treating them with various coatings from silicon spray to WD40 and nothing helps.

Sea Eagle Reply:
We always recommend rinsing the kayak with freshwater after use in very salty water. This will help avoid any build up over time. Please email [email protected] or call 1-800-748-8066 and our customer service team can help.

I can only provide feedback on service and delivery and quality as we have not tried it yet. I commend you all on your order, delivery and service. This kayak is easy to Inflate both manually and with the electric pump. As for the pump it would be great if there was an adapter for AC option. Based on my examination of the 380x it’s really well put together. Once we take it out for our first excursion will let you know how it handles. Btw, we also have the electric motor to try also. I purchased two deep cycle batteries 20 and 30Ah. I’m looking forward to determining how long I can run the water snake on the batteries.

We enjoyed the boat(my wife and I).The easy of travel with the small footprint , weight, and the quick assembly. We have many admirers and questions, which we recommend your sea eagle boats. The only issues was a scrap on the bottom which is cosmetic, I have tried to fix but but I am have a problem. Do you have any suggestions how to do a repair it. Anyway still love the Sea eagle 380X.

Sea Eagle Reply:
Thank you for the review. Someone on our customer service team will be reaching out to you in regards to the scrape.

There is a lot to like about the 380x. First off, the amount of space is excellent. Previously, I was paddling a 10ft Pelican that was very undersized for me. The 380x gives me plenty of room to spread out and pack lots of gear. I have not paddled this tandem, only solo, but that's why I bought it. The skeg helps the kayak track well, honestly very well. The kayak handles wind and choppy water great. The 380x is also sturdy enough for me to stand up and paddle. I also like that I can paddle on my knees. The only downside is the caps for the self-bailing holes. I have a hard time screwing a few of those back on. I have not used the kayak on whitewater, but I open the plugs to get water out and when I am air drying the kayak before I put it away. I love the seats, I upgraded the seats and bought the electric pump. Finally, the kayak is easy to store. The 380 handles well and is easy to paddle. I use the kayak for casual fishing, I wish it had more fishing accessories, but that's not a dealbreaker.

We have enjoyed our 380x.The customer service was great and the delivery time was on time. I would recommend a sea eagle product. I would appreciate some feed back on a good preservative treatment to use on the 380x kayak.

I purchased 2 - 380x boats. The boats have performed well and have been very durable through the 1st season. They are easily stored and transported. They do require more effort to setup and take down than a hard shell, but I think that is to be expected with any inflatable. I would not hesitate on buying another sea eagle product. I think they have a quality product and have been easy to deal with so far. The reason for a 4 out of 5 rating is the high cost of international shipping (Canada). I could almost have bought a 3rd boat for the cost of sending them 3hrs drive north of the border. Covid would not allow for me to pick them up in the US otherwise that would have been a good option.

The boat is quite simple to inflate by manual pump-takes about 10 minutes. Comfortable and pretty easy to steer. Folds up quickly and stores nicely in the trunk of the car.

Had a great time with the 380, but broke the bottom fin going thru white water rapids on our almost three-week trip down the grand canyon and will need to order a new one

We had our maiden voyage, which was great. The pumps provided, attachments, all worked perfectly. Easy assemble. Looking forward to many more adventures.

Overall it's a great boat I sit a little deep when I kayak lakes so I bought the booster pillows. I may pick up the single version. Spouse doesn't always wanna go out

The quality of the boat is outstanding. The only flaw I find is the rudder. I have numerous friends with the same design and they have broken quite a few rudders. I believe it should come with at least one extra rudder as it is quite the challenge getting anywhere without one. I would highly recommend the boat besides that.

Very pleased with our boat. Durable and easy to set up and pack away. Seats are comfortable. The removable keel is essential for paddling straight in ponds or lakes. My only suggestion would be to design an easier on/off system for the keel. It is hard to push on and secure.

Thank you for your review Eric. Feel free to reach out to us anytime for assistance or advice regarding your skeg.

Many happy hours on the water, family felt safe going down numerous rivers and on multi day trips. Would definitely recommend them from a safety perspective and for the size (we had two in a roof box). Only gripe is all the ties frayed on the triangular storage bag for the pumps, the elastic rope restraints' used for storage on the back and front of the kayak also frayed and the seat belt straps holding the inflatable base also frayed. All within days of receiving them.

Sea Eagle Reply:
Thank you for the review Kent. We will gladly assist you with any undue wear on your 380x. Please not that all of our products are covered under warranty.
