The Sea Eagle 285FPB is just exactly what I needed for camping at various sites with lakes or ponds. It is easy to assemble and show more... tear down when done using it. I added a front mounted transom to allow use of an AutoBoat trolling motor. It allows GPS navigation and spot anchoring to fish. I love this set up and wouldn't trade it for anything!

Having had another brand pontoon for 15 yrs, this is a major upgrade for use and portability. Quality is excellent, very stable and well thought show more... out for fishing. Delivered on time and easy to put together, it slides right into the back of my pickup when inflated. I like the idea that I don't have to get my feet wet when launching. I have made some of the modifications as found online such as a plastic breadboard rudder on the Watersnake 34 which really helps tracking in the wind. also an extension arm on the motor so I don't kill myself powering back the lake on a windy day. Two added snaps to the seatback holds a bag with thermos and sandwich. Three snaps on the right seat side holds a small bag with pliers, line, etc. Still have not found a perfect anchoring system. Great boat, well worth the money, should have bought one long ago.

overall, I find the boat is very easy to use, great lake fishing, quick to set up and take down. The only thing that needs show more... a little bit of work is where the seat slides into the floorboard. It was so sloppy that I had to take the plastic shims out. Other than that’s great boat.

in 2021 got an sts10 for when i am out with 2 people- this is a great size to just get out of trunk and show more... go out for a few hours by myself- as always with sea eagle- everything well thought out and placed- Talking to real qualified people in the office whenever needed a replacement valve etc etc was always GREAT- can't recommend this company enough.

This was one of the best investments in my fishing game. The size of the boat and the portability allow me to get in to show more... a lot of places that full sized fishing boat can't get too. Also purchasing the 12v electric automatic pump was a game changer. I usually can get my whole setup put together in less than 15 mins. The only other thing I wish I had purchases was the 3hp trolling motor that they sell for it. I already had a trolling motor that is underrated for the craft so in winds it struggles but that's on me. Being an inflatable you are more prone to getting pushed around in the wind so I suggest having two anchors. One in the front and one in the back to prevent yourself from spinning around. Other than that it's super comfortable for me being 5' 11" and 180lbs. I will say the one thing I wish was the oar standoff were a little longer. From the sitting position the handles will hit my knees if my legs aren't straightened out. It's a wonderful product and I'm in to my second fishing season with it.

I have really enjoyed my Sea Eagle 285fpb. I love the versatillity and customization of the boat. I have added two scotty anchor locks and show more... a transducer mount using scotty glue on pads. Excellent customer service. I am 70 years old and can load it into my shortbed F-250 truck fully inflated on my own, which was a requirement. I am spending many enjoyable / quality hours and days on a local fly fishing only lake catching beautiful trout. Thank you for a quality product.

Great little fishing boat. Perfect for local ponds, lakes, streams and rivers. Use it with a Minnkota Endura Max 45 trolling motor, 100ah lithium battery show more... and Minnkota Trolling Motor Power Center (battery box). When swivel the seat it hits the Power Center so added 1 in spacer between swivel plate and pedestal and now clears it fine. Didn't want to change from 7 in pedestal to 11 in pedestal because that might make a little unstable with higher seat. Also got Wise boat seat caddy that attaches to side of seat for place to store drink, phone and pliers. Put EVA boat foam on top of the wood platform and much nicer. The wood floor does not go all the way to the fixed wooden foot rest so filled that space in with removable garden kneeling pad. Works great. The boat exceeds my expectations.

I love flyfishing in this pontoon boat! The raised seat is very comfortable. I can stand and cast if I want, plenty of room for show more... lunch and extra gear. Easy to load in the truck and quiet on the water.

I’ve used the 285fbp for fishing for about 6 months now and I love it. I’ve had no problems with it. I’m 75 years old show more... and I have no problems assembling it. It’s great for lake and salt water shoreline use. I highly recommend it.

I really enjoy my boat. Once I learned how to get the floor in it was easy to set up. I used a trolling motor show more... to get around on the water. Last fall I fished from it and caught a huge largemouth bass about 7 or 8 pounds

Awesome customer service! I recently purchased my first 285 and I couldn’t find some of the screws for the rod holders. I emailed them thinking show more... they had not included them and they responded within minutes to inform me that they were in the patch kit container. Very impressive! So far great quality and relatively easy to assemble, aside from the floorboard. I am New to SeaEagle products but huge fan so far!

i am very happy with my 285 fpb.It is easy to store ,transport, and set up. I had initial problems inserting the floor, but with show more... setting it in the sun, the rubber holders became pliable and no problems since. The motor that came with it is all I need and works well.

I bought this to to replace a stolen predecessor. Although it was listed as used ( still with guarantee though) it was evidently brand new. show more... I had no second thoughts about replacing like with like v because it’s perfect for my purposes ie a comfortable, customizable, easily stored transported and ready to fish in about half an hour. I highly recommend this product for still water fishing

This is my fourth Sea Eagle water craft - they are excellent! I really like the portability, ease of setup, and durability. It's a small show more... boat with huge value. I outfitted my 285FPB with a small trolling motor, which is great, but I would definitely suggest getting a big Lithium deep cycle battery for this. The weight reduction seems to improve handling, which is pretty good. But lightening the back end help this track a little better. I have been in about twelve inch waves and had zero fear of capsizing. It cuts through choppy water well, with the only limitation being the output of the motor.I continue to be impressed with the quality of these watercrafts, and while they are small I have more than enough room to stay comfortable all day. I can fish 360 degrees, and stand or sit. Moving the boat around on land, and launching it, the cart is a necessity. I have some physical limitations, which is why I got this. I previously was using a Sea Eagle kayak, but I needed something to sit, instead of climbing into.

Great 9' boat but some thoughts for old people. First and foremost, ALWAYS WEAR A LIFE JACKET/VEST!!! Very, very stable boat with no problems there. show more... However (a however is always required), the seat height sucks. Let's face it, we old folk don't get up and down as easy as we use to during our years younger. I saw the pictures of other fishermen standing and I tried it-still very stable, but I felt very uncomfortable and decided I wanted to stay sitting. I had to be smarter than the engineer who only provided a 7" rise pole for the seat. I cut the pole in half and purchased an 8' x 3-1/2" PVC pipe. It has a 3' interior which is just the width of the riser. I cut various heights until I found the one that was right for me. Old guys can be pretty smart at times. One more thing. I think I am going to buy a larger boat just because I want a larger boat. My children and grandchildren are lining up to be the one to get this one. Don't forget that life jacket/vest. GO SEA EAGLE!!!
