300x Explorer Inflatable Kayak Reviews
Thomas Dugan
From the initial purchase to using the Sea Eagle kayak we have been very happy. Communication and shipping was impressive. Kayak is easy to inflate, show more... even manually, and we get alot of questions when we go out on the lakes. Solid construction and easy handling. We highly recommend!

Very happy with the kayak! Seems very well built and the pontoons and drop stitch floor can be inflated to be pretty rigid. Still an show more... effort to paddle along in the ocean but way better than other inflatables. Catches waves really well! Also the rocker allows you to easily paddle back out through the surf. I'm surprised at what it will plow through. Only downsides are it's a bit heavy to carry very far and takes a bit of time to rinse the saltwater and dry it off for storage. Also have had nothing but good experiences with the SeaEagle staff--excellent customer service!

Just received my third SeaEagle boat. I first ordered the Sport Kayak in the 1990's and then another about 15 years later. Now, I have show more... wanted the Explorer for several years and just got it this season. I have only used it twice on lakes and can see where it excels over my Sport Kayak in ease of loading and unloading, inflation, tracking, and handling in mild windy conditions. I will be using it on the river this week and I am confident it will be good for the river as well. I don't usually do over class III but nice to know it can handle more. I call it the Merganser for the duck bill front nose; a common duck seen on the river here. I am just a little clumsy with the drain valves as yet and the skag. I did not think I would like it at first but I really like the hand pump, works great.

This 300x is my second Sea Eagle. My previous 465FT served our family on countless camping trips for over 10 years and still fetched a show more... good resale price. Now the kids are grown and I'm still kayaking. I needed a smaller craft for solo trips. The 300x is portable and easy to set up. It's super tough, barely showing wear after a summer full of kayaking many shallow rivers. I have never felt unsafe on large river or lake chop. It is easy to paddle and very maneuverable. The price, though not cheep, was reasonable. I'm 60ish and I am confident this boat will last my remaining kayaking years. And lastly, the folks at Sea Eagle have always been responsive and generous with there time when I've had questions. Thanks Sea Eagle!

Great boat light weight very durable I'm on the Truckee river 2-3 days a week

Wanted to go with some friends and their hard shells though class 3s and this thing is great. I leave off the skeg so it’s show more... a little fiddly going to the next rapid. Better w a water bottle holder but they’re $9 on Amazon. Just buy it. Easy for beginners too.

As someone who is new to kayaking, it’s been a great experience. I needed a portable kayak for space reasons since I live in a show more... city. I also needed a sturdy kayak because I have a fake hip. The Sea Eagle 300X offered both and has allowed me to get on the water and explore.

After owning the SE-9 for a number of years, and pushing this boat to it's limits, I was not hesitant in the purchase of the show more... 300x. I knew that buying a Sea Eagle was a good choice and I expected a high quality product. I was not disappointed when the 300x arrived, and the quality of the kayak surpassed my expectations. The upgraded package was an outstanding value and I'm very happy with my purchase. Shipping time was excellent and I will purchase again, assuming I live long enough to need another boat!

Love the 300X, prompt response. Would recommend this kayakfor most people. I am 74 years old, I can carry it, inflate it without problems. Very show more... good product.

I love my sea eagle. Much more comfortable than my other sit in kayak. Easier to transport. I can throw it in the trunk and show more... be on my way. Pumping it up with the hand pump is a little tedious, so I purchased a battery operated pump. But, someone younger would have no issue pumping it by hand.

Nice boat , fast and tracks well.

I reviewed SO many inflatable’s before finally purchasing this 300 X. Now, I already had a pack canoe, a hard shell thermoformed kayak and an show more... Oru Beach. But I wanted to do some rivers that might require something that would withstand rocks and shale and still be safe. Well. Down the Shenandoah River in low water…yikes! I thought the bottom would be ripped open. Nope. I found one scratch. That was all. I was blown away. It isn’t the fasted boat on open water, but it IS one of the most stable boats you will find for pretty much any type of paddling. And comfortable…yeah, the comfort isn’t bad, either. I have since gifted two of my other boats and feel confident with this as my do everything boat going forward. Not sorry, at all! Price, weight and performance have made it a no brainer for me.

We have a 300 x and 350fx. Love them both. We had two 393rl. But they were stolen. For our use we like the 300x show more... and 350fx better. Sea Eagle has been great. Dan Copeland

This is the best boat ever. It is very sturdy so we don’t worry about getting holes in it. Lasts forever. Very stable too

I live in Colorado and mainly use this 300x kayak for fishing and rivers, I also own a 437 paddleski with a 6 hp outboard show more... and have owned a 420x. All have been great, solid boats with no problems at all...Howard

The kayak itself is fantastic. Great quality, I expect many, many years of use. Since I am a beginner, I took it on flat water. show more... It handles wakes extremly well- feels bullet-proof. Looking forward to taking it on some moving water next season. There isba learning curve though with setting it up and taking it down. I was not able to fold it back up nicely. It spent the season tossed in my back-seat, and didn't get properly folded until the end of the season.

So far we have used our boats on the river, some class 2 rapids, and were very happy with the performance. Easy transport, set up, show more... break down, very navigable on the water, comfortable seats. We already have recommended them to friends.

These kayaks are just what we needed. We live in an apartment in a city, with not a whole lot of storage room, so the

portability and size of the kayaks were tantamount. We've taken them out more than a couple of times since purchasing them earlier this year and love their versatility. We've been complimented on them by other boaters more than once. However, there are a couple of minor drawbacks:
1) Needing to dry off the kayak after use. It's just part of the cost of owning an inflatable and having the portability convenience. Protip: Deflate the floor first, dry it off, remove it and then dry the inside of the boat.
2) The stow bag, which is more of a wrap in the shape of a Swiss cross with five straps that have to be threaded, is a little frustrating. Would have preferred a BIG gunny sack.
3) The BP12 electric pump only connects to a car-type battery. Does not plug into a car lighter or normal plug.
But, those three things are very minor. We love just throwing them in the car and going!
Sea Eagle Reply:
Thank you for the review and feedback! A battery for the electric pump can be ordered - https://www.seaeagle.com/Accessories/pumps/electric-pump-lead-battery - We do not offer the Aux Power outlet hookup as it will trip the fuse on most newer cars.

While I like my Sea Eagle 300X, my spouse, Lindsay would have liked the razorlite better. They are slow on bigger water requiring a wide show more... paddle stroke.

This boat is everything I wanted it to be. It’s easy to store, transport and setup/takedown. It paddles like a dream and is extremely stable. show more... I’m not an experienced paddler and I’ve been in some rough weather in it and felt comfortable and safe. I love that I can handle everything myself if I need to and that it is quick and easy. The boat is made of durable materials and has held up to multiple uses so far. I love this boat so much I got one for my husband ( also not an experienced paddler ) and he loves it too! I would highly recommend this boat to anyone. Great value.

I have a few other inflatables and at the moment my sea eagle 300X is my go to especially for flat water, it tracks really show more... well for an inflatable and would recommend it for any water conditions

Love my sea eagle Kayak! It works great and I get lots of compliments!

Best purchase of the year! I love this kayak! It's easy to inflate, so sturdy and forgiving! I never feel like I might tip! Packs show more... up into a back pack. Used in reservoirs and white water! Great product -

Wanted to join my friends for geocaching via calm water without relying on someone having a spare kayak, but lifting and storing my own wasn’t show more... going to work. Then a friend showed up with her Sea Eagle Sport Kayak. THAT could work! Questions emailed to customer service were answered promptly and thoroughly. Order arrived quickly. Used during 120-day trial period and was pleased. Inflation with electric pump is done in a few minutes (highly recommend electric pump!). When dry and folded into carry bag, can be stored in closet or under bed. I feel safe on the water in my Explorer 300X. Wish it had a foot rest, though. Might be tempted to make another purchase in future. Have recommended your kayaks to friends who are looking for convenient storage & transportability. Photo shows our group -- me in blue Explorer 300X and friend in white Sport Kayak, with a variety of other kayaks and a canoe ahead of us. We fit right in with our Sea Eagle kayaks! :)
