Great 9' boat but some thoughts for old people. First and foremost, ALWAYS WEAR A LIFE JACKET/VEST!!! Very, very stable boat with no problems there. However (a however is always required), the seat height sucks. Let's face it, we old folk don't get up and down as easy as we use to during our years younger. I saw the pictures of other fishermen standing and I tried it-still very stable, but I felt very uncomfortable and decided I wanted to stay sitting. I had to be smarter than the engineer who only provided a 7" rise pole for the seat. I cut the pole in half and purchased an 8' x 3-1/2" PVC pipe. It has a 3' interior which is just the width of the riser. I cut various heights until I found the one that was right for me. Old guys can be pretty smart at times. One more thing. I think I am going to buy a larger boat just because I want a larger boat. My children and grandchildren are lining up to be the one to get this one. Don't forget that life jacket/vest. GO SEA EAGLE!!!

Heading to Alaska halibut fishing. Bought the 285FPB. Needed a bag for transportation. Bought the L.L.Bean adventure duffel XL.

The Boat, oars and seat fit perfectly. Had room to add a 12x12 tarp, crab trap, raincoat, snorkeling stringer and 18 " Boat buoy to land the big ones! All at 48.5#. Can't wait to bring in a 100 pounder on this baby!

I love my 285fbp awesome one man boat. Have had mine for about 8 years still solid and durable never had any issues with it! Love it great on big water and creeks with a lot of tree structures never had any problems. I do a lot of crappie, bream, catfish, and white bass fishing out of mine. Creeks are my best friend and I love being in this one man boat, very quiet on the water! ❤️❤️ Awesome boat good job Sea Eagle👍🏿

Just love the mobility and how stable this boat is. You can keep it simple or add to this boat and make it your own of what you want on board.

I've had my 285FPB since the summer of 2020, and I absolutely love everything about it. I was reading some of the recent reviews from new owners and noticed a few complaints I had when I first got the boat. I also had problems installing the floorboards, but I found a set of plastic Trim and Molding Tools at Harbor Freight, and the wide one works great to get the floorboards under the rubber hold-downs. Also, the more you install them the easier it gets. The other issue was tracking with the trolling motor, which many people have mentioned. I found an item from Bullnose Products, which is a bolt-on rudder, and it works great in keeping the boat going straight and makes handling much more maneuverable. It's a little pricey, but worth it for me, and I have attached a photo of it installed on the Watersnake motor. This boat has opened up a new world of small mountain lakes here in the Pacific Northwest, that I was never able to get into before, and has been a delight to own.

Brilliant product! Easy to store and easy to transport. Best of all it provides a supper stable platform for fishing. I can stand up to cast with confidence and know that I have no risk of losing my balance and end up, upside down minus my fishing tackle. There is not a kayak in the world that can provide this level of safety and convenience for fishing.
